Asda and Aldi's own-label baked beans have come out on top in a taste test conducted by consumer group Which?. The beans, which are much cheaper than more expensive brands such as Heinz, scored higher in the test for flavor, appearance, texture, and aroma. Asda's 50p tin home brand baked beans came out on top with a score of 77%, while Aldi's 45p Corale beans came second with 75%. Heinz, the most popular brand, was ranked third with 71%, followed by Branston's cans with 74%. The taste test results will be welcomed by shoppers looking to reduce their grocery bills as the cost of living crisis continues. This is not the first time though! People have been comparing earlier as well!

The beans were tasted and rated by a panel of 82 people who regularly buy and eat baked beans, and the overall scores were based on flavor (50%), appearance (20%), texture (20%), and aroma (10%). The taste test results showed that cheaper supermarket options can more than hold their own against the most popular brands and that shoppers can get tastier and better-value toppings for their toast or jacket potato. The Which? retail editor, Reena Sewraz, said that opting for supermarket own-label groceries is not only a great way to save money, but consumers can often get tastier products as well.
