Matar Pulao, Matar, Pulao, Biryani

Ingredients:

    • ½ Cup Oil
    • 1 Medium Onion Sliced
    • 2 tbsp Black Cumin Seed
    • 2 tbsp Cardamom
    • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
    • 1 ½ Tbsp Chili Flakes
    • 1 tbsp Salt
    • 1 Chicken Cube
    • ½ Cup Yogurt
    • 1 Cup Peas
    • ½ Kg Rice
    • Water (As Required)
    • Food Color (Optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onion and stir.
  3. Add the black cumin seeds and cardamom and fry for a few seconds.
  4. Add the ginger garlic paste and fry until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced tomatoes, chili flakes, salt, and chicken cube. Stir well and cook for a few minutes until the tomatoes are soft.
  6. Add the yogurt and peas and stir well.
  7. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Stir gently to mix everything together.
  8. Add enough water to cover the rice by about an inch. Stir gently again.
  9. Cover the pot and let the rice cook over low heat for about 15-20 minutes, or until the water has been absorbed and the rice is cooked through.
  10. If desired, add a few drops of food color to the rice and mix gently.
  11. Serve hot with your favorite curry or raita. Enjoy!
