Spring cleaning can be a daunting task, and tackling your kitchen first can make the rest of the process feel a bit more manageable. So, let’s get started. Grab your cleaning supplies and get ready to give your kitchen some much-needed TLC( tender loving care)!

Clear out all the clutter

Start by clearing out the clutter. Go through your cupboards and drawers, and get rid of anything that you don’t use or need anymore. This is also a good time to go through your pantry and toss out anything that’s expired.

Once you’ve decluttered, it’s time to move on to the deep cleaning.

Clear out these:

  • Expired food
  • Old appliances
  • Duplicate utensils
  • Outdated dishes
  • Broken appliances
  • Old cookbooks
  • Unused gadgets

Wash it up

Begin by washing the walls and baseboards. This will help to remove any dust, dirt, or grime that has accumulated over the past year. You can use a mixture of warm water and gentle dish soap to do this. Once the walls are clean, move on to the cabinets and drawers. Wipe them down with a damp cloth and make sure to get into all the crevices and corners.

WIPE WIPE WIPE!

Next, turn your attention to the counters, table, and any other surfaces in your kitchen. Wipe them down with a disinfectant cleaner and use a scrub brush to get into any hard-to-reach areas. Then, move on to the appliances. Give the outside of your refrigerator, oven, and microwave a good scrubbing and clean any crumbs or spills that may have accumulated. If you have a dishwasher, run a cycle with a vinegar rinse to help remove any built-up soap scum.

Organize

Once the surfaces are all clean, it’s time to focus on organization. Start by going through your pantry and grouping like items together. This will make it easier to find things when you’re cooking. Next, determine where you’re going to store your pots, pans, and other cookware. Hang them on the wall or use a pot rack to keep them organized and easily accessible. Organize your pantry perfectly.

Hang a spice rack near the stove to keep all your spices in one place, and invest in a few new kitchen gadgets that you’ve been wanting. If you’re feeling ambitious, you can even paint the walls or cabinets to give the room a whole new look. Whatever you decide to do, a good spring cleaning will help you create a kitchen that you’re proud of and one that makes meal prep easier and more enjoyable.
