Gajar Ka Halwa

The word halwa comes from the Arabic word for “sweet,” and refers to desserts that are cooked with ghee and sugar. Gajar Ka Halwa is a yummy dessert that is reserved for celebratory occasions.

Gajar Ka Halwa, Halwa, Sardi Ki Soghat

Ingredients:

    • 700 grams Carrot
    • 200 grams Milk Mava
    • 300 grams Sugar
    • 1 Small Bowl Dry Fuits (Almond, Pistachio & Cashew)
    • 1/2 tbsp Cardamom
    • 1 tbsp Clarified Butter
    • 250 gram Milk

Instructions:

  • Grate the carrot
  • Take the pan and add the grated carrot. Let it on the flame until water in the carrot evaporates. Keep stirring time to time.
  • Now add sugar. Mix well and keep stirring. Cook till the sugar completely dissolved into the syrup. Now keep stirring till the final water content in the mixture evaporates.
  • Add clarified butter and cardamom powder and stir the mixture.
  • Now add the milk mava and mash it completely with the ghee mixture in the another pan. And roast it for a bit. Then add dry fruits and stir.
  • Now add sweetened carrot mix to this mixture of milk mava. Stir and mix everything completely. Take care it does not burn out at the bottom.
  • Garnish with the dry fruits and serve hot.
